You asked for a bit of both: serious practice and family course play. Your 7.5m × 4.3m room with its 3m ceiling is one of the best sim spaces we've been sent this year, and £6,000–£8,000 is the right sort of budget for it. Here are the three ways I'd spend it, every cost on the table.

Add a blackout blind or lined curtains — the projector picture is good in daylight and superb in a darkened room; you'll notice it most on family afternoons.

A double socket at the screen end saves trailing leads to the projector and R50. The 10m HDMI lead is already included in every option below — one less thing to think about.

Which one I'd build

For what you described — improvement plus family course play, in a lived-in room, wanted soon — I'd build the Garmin R50 room. It's the simplest to live with by a distance, it's inside the budget you arrived with, and the whole family can use it without anyone touching a settings menu. If in a year the data side takes over your golf, everything else in the room carries forward — only the launch monitor would change.
