Winter-proof — built to stay outside all year ▼ details

Hot-dip galvanised steel frame — zinc-coated so it doesn't rust: the same protection used on farm gates and street railings. Rain, frost and snow don't touch it.

UV-stabilised knotless netting — weatherproof twine that keeps its strength through sun, rain and frost, season after season.

Storm-sensible — in a named storm, unclip the netting in about ten minutes; the planted frame stays put.

Maintained forever — 2-year warranty, and every component (nets, bars, joints) is available as a UK spare.

Leave it up through winter — that's what it's built for.

    Product Overview

The permanent golf practice bay: a professional 3m × 3m × 3m socketed golf cage in heavy-duty 42mm galvanised steel, with uprights that concrete into ground sockets for a rock-solid fixed installation — add a tour-density hitting mat and base to complete the setup.

The Socketed Pro golf cage and net takes our heavy-duty 42mm steel cage and fixes it in place for good: each upright slots into a ground socket concreted into the ground, so the frame stands up to wind and daily use with no pegs or guy ropes. The weatherproof knotless green net safely stops full-speed drives, making this the right choice for golf clubs, driving ranges, schools and gardens where the cage will live in one spot permanently. Add a hitting mat and base to complete the practice station, or take the cage and net on their own.

    Choose your setup:

    • Cage Only — socketed 42mm galvanised steel golf cage with weatherproof knotless green net, 3m × 3m × 3m (10ft × 10ft × 10ft), available as a single bay or 2-bay
    • With hitting mat — add the FORZA Driving Range Mat, FORB Teaching Mat or Ultra Tee Turf Mat (all 5ft × 5ft), with an optional Standard or Pro Jigsaw rubber base

This socketed golf cage suits full driver, iron and wedge practice, and is the pick for permanent installs — commercial ranges, golf clubs and serious garden practice spaces. It also doubles as an enclosure for a golf simulator setup with a launch monitor.

    • Heavy-duty 42mm galvanised steel tube — weatherproof and rust-resistant for year-round outdoor use
    • Ground-socket installation: uprights concrete into ground sockets for a permanent fixed cage
    • Weatherproof knotless green net safely contains full-speed shots
    • Single bay measures 3m × 3m × 3m (10ft × 10ft × 10ft); 2-bay option doubles the hitting stations
    • Mat options: FORZA Driving Range, FORB Teaching or Ultra Tee Turf mat, with Standard or Pro Jigsaw rubber base

Planning where your cage will go? Read our guide: How to Build a Base for a Garden Golf Cage — grass, platform or sub-base. It covers starting on grass with U-pegs, the exact sub-base build we recommend (with real costs), anchoring on every surface, and finishing around the base with bark or artificial turf.

    Delivery Details

£30 standard delivery (bulky item), by DX courier. Typically dispatched the same day you order and delivered within 3–5 working days, UK mainland.

    • Most orders arrive together — occasionally the cage and mat arrive as separate consignments a day apart.
    • We share your delivery tracking details as soon as they're available.
    • Northern Ireland & Scottish Highlands: message us first and we'll confirm options.
    Assembling Your Golf Cage

Two people, everyday tools, plus a permanent concrete install — spanner, Allen key, ratchet with sockets, rubber mallet and a stepladder for the roof netting.

    • The 4 ground sockets (included) are concreted into the ground first, one per upright — let the concrete set before the build.
    • The frame assembles with grub-screw corner joints, then the uprights slot straight into the sockets — no pegs, no guy ropes, and the cage lifts back out if it ever needs to move.
    • The red tab on the netting marks the front, so it can't go on backwards. Fit the top corners first, then the sides.

Better Scores. More Fun. Better Golf.

Why This Is The Last Practice Setup You'll Buy

Quality-focused practice, conveniently at home — the proven route to lower scores.

Practice That Shows Up On Your Scorecard Full swing, real balls
    01 / 05
    Why It Works

Practice That Shows Up On Your Scorecard

The golfers who improve aren't the ones with the best intentions — they're the ones who swing every day. Twenty quality balls after work beats a rushed weekly range trip, because consistency compounds. With a full-size bay ten steps from your back door, the friction between you and better golf disappears.

    • Groove your swing daily — no drive, no queue, no range fees
    • Real balls, full shots — not foam-ball compromises
    • Ten minutes a day builds more skill than one range session a week
Swing Out Of Your Shoes. Nothing Leaves The Cage. Double-net system
    02 / 05
    Driver-Rated Protection

Swing Out Of Your Shoes. Nothing Leaves The Cage.

Confidence is everything in practice. The double-net system pairs a full 2.3mm knotless enclosure with a separate archery-grade impact panel that hangs loose inside the cage — it absorbs driver-speed strikes and drops the ball dead. No rebounds, no escapes, no held-back swings.

    • Archery-grade mesh impact panel — built for repeated high-speed impact
    • Loose-hung design kills ball speed instead of trampolining it back
    • Full enclosure keeps mis-hits, shanks and toe-strikes contained
Will It Fall Over? It's Set In Concrete. Concreted-in 42mm steel
    03 / 05
    The Question Everyone Asks

Will It Fall Over? It's Set In Concrete.

This is the most stable cage we sell. The heavy-duty 42mm galvanised steel frame doesn't rely on pegs or ballast — each upright fixes into a ground socket concreted into the ground, so the cage stands up to wind and daily full-speed sessions as a permanent fixture. It's the same install chosen by golf clubs, schools and driving ranges.

    • 42mm galvanised steel fixed into 4 concreted ground sockets
    • No pegs, no guy ropes — a permanent, rock-solid install
    • Galvanised = no rust; lives outside all year
    • Every part replaceable as a UK spare — built to be the last one you buy
Real Fairway Feel — Tee It Up Anywhere 35mm tour turf + pro base
    04 / 05
    Our Most Premium Mat

Real Fairway Feel — Tee It Up Anywhere

The Ultra Tee Turf is our most premium hitting surface — a dense 35mm tour-grade all-turf pile that plays like a pristine fairway, giving you the same consistent, course-like contact every time you swing. Its standout feature is unique tee placement: push a real wooden tee straight into the turf, anywhere on the mat, and hit driver, woods, irons and wedges just as you would out on the course. And because that deep pile cushions every strike, it is genuinely kind on your wrists and elbows — so you can practise session after session, right through the year.

    • Unique tee placement — no rubber tee, place a wooden tee anywhere for every shot type
    • Premium 35mm surface layer — simulates a real course, smooth and consistent
    • High-quality stability — 10mm EVA jigsaw rubber base grips grass, patio or decking
    • Rubber ball tray included — work a full bucket without bending down

    Up In An Afternoon

Delivered Fast. Built By You. Practising This Week.

Two people, basic tools and a clear step-by-step guide. Concrete the four ground sockets into position, let them set, then the frame bolts together and the uprights slot straight in — a one-time job that gives you a permanent, rock-solid bay. If you get stuck, Tom is on WhatsApp.

    • Fast UK delivery — typically 3–5 working days
    • Sockets concreted in once — the cage slots in and lifts out
    • Every single part available as a UK spare — buy once, maintain forever

Building your base — the three honest options

The cage stands on any of these. What changes is winter mud, stability, and how the cage sits against your garden. Here’s the straight version we give every customer on WhatsApp.

    Day one

    Straight onto grass

U-pegs into the lawn, hitting balls in about an hour. A perfectly good way to start — and the cage lifts onto a proper base later without any changes.

    • No groundwork cost
    • Reposition any time
    • Honest downside: a well-used bay gets muddy from late autumn
    Think twice

    Raised platform or deck

Solves the mud, but lifts the whole cage 30cm or more — the only option that makes a 3m cage taller against your fence or hedge line.

    • Good where ground falls away steeply
    • Timber & joist costs approach a proper sub-base
    • Worst choice if neighbour sightlines matter
    Our recommendation

    Prepared sub-base

Excavate, compacted MOT Type 2 stone, sharp sand blinding, finished flush with the lawn in artificial turf or bark. The frame beds ~75mm into the surface.

    • Drains freely — no winter mud, ever
    • Dead level and rock solid all year
    • Any local landscaper can build it — we supply a one-page spec to quote from

The honest bit: no base makes a 3m cage meaningfully lower — the job is drainage and never making it taller than it has to be. Not sure what suits your garden? Send a photo on WhatsApp and we’ll tell you straight — it’s the same free consultation hundreds of cage owners started with.

Standard vs Pro mat base — which do I need?

Both rubber bases lift your hitting mat level, stop it creeping mid-swing and let rain drain straight through. Here’s the honest difference — the same answer we give every customer on WhatsApp.

    Mat base questions, answered

What’s the real difference between the Standard and Pro base?

The Standard base is a great option and it’s what most customers go for, thanks to the lower price — it gives good protection and it’s quite durable. The Pro base has better drainage, is thicker, and therefore lasts even longer. It’s the premium option for permanently outdoor or heavy-use setups.

Do I need a base at all?

On a patio or level deck you can start without one. On grass — or anywhere that gets wet — a base keeps the mat flat, stable and off the damp ground, which extends the mat’s life considerably. It also stops the mat creeping when you’re hitting driver.

Can it stay outside all year?

Yes. Both bases are solid weatherproof rubber with drainage holes throughout, so rainwater escapes rather than pooling under your mat. For a permanently outdoor bay in a wet spot, the Pro’s extra thickness and drainage make it the better long-term choice.

Which mats do the bases fit?

Both are built for 5ft × 5ft (1.5m × 1.5m) driving range mats. The Standard base fits FORB & FORZA mats; the Pro base’s jigsaw design fits all 5ft × 5ft mats.

Still not sure? Send Tom a photo of where the cage is going on WhatsApp — you’ll get a straight answer on which base suits your ground. Bases are also available separately: FORB Rubber Golf Mat Bases.

The cage is 10ft × 10ft × 10ft (3.1m long × 3.1m wide × 3.1m high) — a full cube with comfortable driver clearance for golfers of any height. The hitting mat is 5ft × 5ft (1.52m square). This is a permanent installation — the four uprights fix into ground sockets set in concrete — so choose a spot where the cage can live for good, and allow around a metre of clearance behind the impact end so the netting can flex. If you're not sure it fits, send Tom a photo of your space on WhatsApp and he'll tell you straight.

    What's In The Box

The cage: heavy-duty 42mm galvanised steel bars and grub-screw corner joints, 4 ground sockets to concrete in, full 10×10×10 enclosure net (2.3mm knotless weatherproof twine), heavy-duty archery-grade impact panel, tie twine, cable ties and step-by-step installation guide.

With your chosen mat: 5ft × 5ft hitting mat, pro anti-skid rubber base and rubber ball tray. Nothing else to buy — balls and tees are all you need.

    Assembly & Anchoring

This is a permanent, concreted-in installation — the most stable cage we sell. The four ground sockets are concreted into the ground first, one per upright; once the concrete has set, the frame goes together with grub-screw corner joints and the uprights slot straight into the sockets — no pegs, no guy ropes. The cage can be lifted back out of its sockets later if it ever needs to move. The red tab on the netting marks the front so it can't go on backwards; attach the top corners first, then the sides.

    Useful Assembly Tools

Everyday tools most households already own — nothing specialist needed:

    • Spanner — for the frame fixings
    • Allen key — for the grub-screw corner joints
    • Ratchet with sockets — speeds up the bolt work
    • Rubber mallet — seats the bars into the joints
    • Stepladder — for fitting the roof netting (the frame is 3m tall)

Two people and about 90 minutes and you're hitting balls.

    Weather & Care

Galvanised steel and weatherproof knotless twine are made to live outside all year round. Give the fixings a quick check periodically, and in severe storms or very high winds we recommend dropping the netting. Every component — nets, bars, joints — is available as a UK spare, so the cage is a buy-once purchase you can maintain forever.

    Delivery, Returns & Warranty

Delivery — £30 standard charge (bulky item): your bundle is delivered by DX, typically dispatched the same day you order and delivered within 3–5 working days, UK mainland. Most orders arrive together, though the cage and mat can occasionally arrive as separate consignments a day apart. We share your tracking details as soon as they're available, so you always know where your delivery is.

Northern Ireland & Scottish Highlands: message us before ordering and we'll confirm options. Returns & warranty: 30-day returns and a 2-year warranty, backed by our UK team — call, WhatsApp or email and you'll speak to a person who knows the product.

    HackMotion

    Master your wrists

A wrist sensor and app that give real-time feedback on your wrist angles through the swing — the fault most amateurs can’t see. Guided drills groove the release.

    Sensor + app

Build the bay once, then keep getting better. These apps work with any net — and pair perfectly with the space, safety and repeatability of the Pro Golf Cage.

Third-party apps, sold separately and not affiliated with OpenGolfer. Features and pricing are indicative — check each app for current plans.
