Do I need planning permission for a golf cabin?
Many garden buildings fall under permitted development, but the rules are stricter than for temporary structures: height limits apply (typically 2.5m near a boundary), and internal ceiling height for a driver swing usually means positioning the cabin away from boundaries or seeking permission. Your build consultation covers this properly for your property — and it's practical guidance, not legal advice.
How tall does a golf cabin need to be inside?
For full driver swings, plan on ~2.7–3m internal ceiling height. Iron-only rooms can work lower — tell us your tallest golfer and we'll confirm what your space allows before anything is drawn.
What does a golf simulator cabin cost in the UK?
Realistic budgets: purpose-built simulator cabins typically start around £25,000; bespoke garden golf rooms commonly run £40,000–£100,000; premium projects reach £150,000. The golf technology inside (launch monitor, screen, projector, software) is specified separately to fit your budget — from ~£2,500 to £20,000+.
Can I supply my own simulator equipment?
Yes. If you already own a launch monitor we'll design the room around it — radar units need ball-flight depth behind and in front of the ball, camera units need much less, and that difference changes the room design. That's exactly what the free consultation resolves.
How long does a build take?
Garage conversions are the fastest route; garden cabins and bespoke rooms depend on groundworks, spec and season. You'll get honest timelines in your design consultation — we'd rather quote you a real date than a nice one.
