Garmin R50 Simulator Packages Compared (UK): What's Actually Included

Garmin R50 packages, by spec

Every UK Garmin R50 simulator package starts from the same launch monitor, so the price gap between them is almost entirely what else is in the box. The one line to check before anything else: whether the projector is included. On most "around £5,000" R50 enclosure packages it is not, and a short-throw projector with its mount adds roughly £1,000 to £1,800 to the real cost of a working simulator.

We sell this: the first column is our own Garmin R50 golf simulator package. The other columns describe typical UK packages by their published spec sheets (checked October 2026), not any one seller.

"Typical" columns summarise the spec sheets of UK Garmin R50 enclosure packages and net bundles we checked in October 2026. Specs change; always read the "what's included" list on the page you are buying from. Our own prices are shown live on the product page and are never typed into this table.

Why the projector line decides the real price

An enclosure with an impact screen is a wall to hit into. A simulator is that wall with the course projected onto it. The Garmin R50 can run Home Tee Hero on its own 10-inch touchscreen, so a package without a projector still works as a practice bay, but you will be looking down at a tablet-sized screen while the big white screen in front of you stays blank. Most people who buy an enclosure then buy a short-throw projector within weeks, and because the SimSpace bays are shallow, it needs to be a genuine short-throw model mounted where it will not throw your own shadow onto the screen. That is why we spec the BenQ AH500ST and its floor case into the package rather than listing it as an add-on.

How to compare any two R50 packages honestly

  • Add the projector and mount to the cheaper price if they are not included, then compare.
  • Check the screen depth, not just the width. A 1 m-deep bay fits rooms a 1.5 m bay will not; a 3 m-deep bay needs a 3.1 m ceiling.
  • Check the mat has a base. A mat on a hard floor is a different product from a mat on a rubber base at screen-ball height.
  • Ask who checks your room. A size chart is not the same as someone looking at your measurements (and photos) before you spend the money.
  • Read the delivery and returns lines. Free delivery on a £5,000 package and £5 delivery on a complete one are not the deciding number.

Not sure which bay fits?

Send us the room and we will tell you straight

Width, ceiling height and length, plus a photo or two. Tom (or SIM:ON, our AI designer) comes back with a 3D design of your room and the sizes that actually fit, free and with no obligation. If the room is too small for a simulator we will say so and point you at a better start.

Questions people ask before choosing

Does the Garmin R50 simulator package include a projector?

Ours does: the BenQ AH500ST short-throw projector and its floor case are in the box. Most UK R50 enclosure packages priced around £5,000 do not include a projector, so add roughly £1,000 to £1,800 for a short-throw projector and mount when you compare like for like.

What room size does a Garmin R50 package need?

We design R50 rooms of at least 3.0 m wide, 2.7 m high and 4.2 m long, or 4.3 m long for the 3 m-tall SIM 5 and SIM 6 bays. The 1 m-deep SIM 0 bay suits the shallowest rooms. Our Garmin R50 room requirements guide has the full numbers and how to measure.

Do I need a gaming PC for a Garmin R50 simulator?

No. The R50 runs Home Tee Hero on its own touchscreen and sends the picture to the projector over one HDMI lead. A PC is only needed if you later add GSPro or E6.

Is a cheaper Garmin R50 enclosure package worth it?

If you are happy to buy and mount your own projector, or to play on the R50's own screen for now, a cheaper enclosure package can be the right call. If you want a working simulator on day one with the room checked first, a package with the projector included and a free room design is the simpler route. Add the missing parts to the cheaper price and compare the totals.
