Home vs Professional Golf Cage: Which 3m × 3m × 3m Cage Is Right For You?

The two most popular ways to build a full-size 3m × 3m × 3m practice cage at home are the budget-friendly Forb Portable Golf Cage (£269.99) and our premium Pro Golf Cage & Hitting Mat Bundle. Both give you full driver headroom — but they're built for very different levels of use. Here's an honest, feature-by-feature comparison so you can pick the right one.

Our recommendation

On quality and durability we would always recommend the Pro (Professional) cage. The galvanised steel frame resists corrosion far better than powder coating, and the archery-grade impact panel makes it a much more premium, hard-wearing option that stands up to daily, full-speed sessions.

The Forb Portable cage is a solid budget option for home use and casual practice. But we wouldn't recommend it for a golf club or coaching facility as a warm-up cage — under constant use it will deteriorate faster than the galvanised Pro frame.

Which should you buy?

  • Choose the Forb Portable cage if you're a recreational golfer wanting an affordable, full-size cage for occasional garden practice.
  • Choose the Pro Golf Cage if you practise often, want it to live outside all year, or you're a coach/club needing a cage that survives high-frequency use — plus you can add a pro hitting mat, base and ball tray in one bundle.
